In 2015, HackerYou’s popular part-time Intro to Ruby on Rails course will be back. Come and learn Ruby on Rails, build web applications and collaborate with a group of people just like you – up-and-coming entrepreneurs (or wantrepreneurs) who know that a technical skill set will help them get further, faster. With an intense focus on hands-on, project-based learning, this course will give you the opportunity to learn directly from some of Toronto’s most talented Ruby on Rails developers (including Ryan Brunner and Brad Robertson) and discover how to create beautiful, functional web applications from scratch.

This course is designed for beginners, and is a great option for people working full-time as well as those with more flexible schedules. Whether you’re interested in learning to code in order to become a better entrepreneur, to prototype an idea, or communicate more effectively with developers, HackerYou’s Intro to Ruby on Rails course is for you. Space is limited, so if you’re interested in joining us, apply now!

Please note that this program is offered in English. Course capacity: 25 students.

Meet your instructors & mentors

Brad Robertson & Ryan Brunner

About Brad:
Brad's tech career had humble beginnings as an IT specialist, but his interests quickly blossomed into software development. After graduating with a B.Sc in Computer Science from Ryerson, he ventured out into the Toronto tech scene. Six years later he continues to write software professionally as a developer at Influitive Inc. With over nine years of Ruby experience, and seven of those heavily focused on Rails, Brad brings a wealth of knowledge to the table. When he's not flexing his nerd muscles at work, you'll find him hacking away at open source projects and researching new ideas focused around Object Oriented Programming and Database Management Systems.

About Ryan:
Ryan has been working with computers since his first Commodore 64 in 1986. He's been working as a software developer since 2001, working with various web startups around the Toronto area. For the past three years, Ryan has been working at Influitive, leading the development team, and helping to organize Ruby and Rails events in Toronto. Ryan enjoys cooking, the outdoors, and pictures of animals (adorably) acting like people.
