Join us for HackerYou's most popular part-time course, Introduction to Web Development. You'll learn HTML5 and CSS3, build websites and collaborate with a group of people just like you! With an intense focus on hands-on, project-based learning, this course will give you the opportunity to learn directly from some of Toronto’s most talented developers and and discover how to create beautiful, functional websites from scratch.

This course is designed for beginners, and is a great option for people working full-time as well as those with more flexible schedules. Whether you’re interested in learning to code to further your career or start your own business as an entrepreneur or freelancer, this course is for you. Advanced Web Development
Jan 16 – Feb 22

The web has evolved. It isn’t something we engage with only on desktops and laptops – today, most people engage regularly with the web on mobile devices of varying sizes. As a result, the way we think about web design and architecture has completely changed. A strong understanding of why and how to optimize websites for mobile devices is a valuable skill for people in a variety of different roles and industries.

This advanced course in web development will give students the skills they need to design and create a responsive website for laptops, phones, tablets, and beyond using the latest HTML5 and CSS3 techniques. We will also dive deeper into CSS and teach participants the very latest and greatest CSS3 techniques for creating even richer web experiences.

Tom Haxell

Lead Instructor, Web Development

Tom is a Toronto based Freelancer who develops custom sites for a wide variety of companies. A few of the companies Tom has worked with include Bell Media, TechTO, BlackHart Construction, The Anne Boleyn Bar, Tapmango, and Calibrex Inc. Before becoming a web developer Tom was an event coordinator for Humber College and an actor. Tom is thrilled to share his knowledge of web development with people looking to break into the industry.
