Since HackerYou ran its very first Bootcamp out of our space at Queen and Spadina back in 2014, we’ve been relentless about our goal of creating the highest-quality coding bootcamp experience in the world.
Our aim is simple and two-fold: students who are happy, and students who are placeable. I’ve always said that if we’re accomplishing both of those things, we’re doing it right.
Well, students are definitely happy. You feel it the moment you arrive on campus - students love it here. But with over 600 online reviews from real students rating us 5 out of 5, it’s not just a feeling anymore. It’s a quantifiable fact. We were recently named the top-rated Bootcamp in Canada and eighth in the world by Switchup, and we’re on Course Report’s list of the 51 Best Coding Bootcamps yet again.
But without results, it wouldn’t matter how happy students are, which is why I’m excited to present our first annual Student Outcomes Report. For this report, we polled all of the Web Development Immersive (Bootcamp) students who enrolled in 2017. We wanted to know how long it took them to find a job and how much they made in their first position out of the program. These two facts are key in helping future HackerYou students make a thoughtful and informed decision about applying to HackerYou, because they can tell you the return on your investment.
Since we were gathering the info anyway, we decided to calculate one more thing - we wanted to know if there is a difference between what our male-identifying and female-identifying graduates make. We’re all aware of the gender gap in the tech industry, and we wanted to know if, and how, it’s impacting our graduates. We were pleasantly surprised, and we think you will be too.
