Continuing Education Courses

A deposit of $1000 plus HST is due upon acceptance to the course. Please note that a $250 plus HST non-refundable course registration fee is included in the deposit amount. The remaining balance of the tuition is due two weeks before the course begins.

We want you to love learning with us. If for some reason you don’t, you’ll receive a prorated refund based on the date you drop the course, minus the registration fee of $250 plus HST. To drop a course, please submit your request in writing by emailing us at admissions@hackeryou.com.

Fees for workshops are due in full at the time of enrolment. If you are no longer able to attend a workshop, please email us no later than seven days before the workshop begins to receive a full refund. No refunds will be given after that date.

We’re thrilled to share our space with you. When booking any of our spaces, you will agree to a standard contract regarding use of the space. Please see your contract for details on refunds.

Accomodation Policy

In accordance with HackerYou’s values, we actively strive to create an environment where everyone who comes through our doors feels safe, supported, and free to be themselves, and to create projects using new and exciting technology that expresses who they are. We’re always working hard and challenging ourselves to create the kind of environment where everyone feels welcome, and we always will.

We will make accommodation for students and guests with disabilities or other needs wherever possible. Our space at 483 Queen Street West has an elevator for access. We offer gender-neutral washroom facilities in both our buildings, as well as a room for breastfeeding, pumping, prayer or other requirements. Please feel free to email us to discuss any accommodation needs.

Sexual Violence and Harassment Policy

HackerYou has a zero-tolerance policy for sexual violence and harassment. Read our full policy here.

Course Postmponements and Transfers

Course Postponements

At times, we may have to change the location, date, or postpone a course or workshop. We will endeavour to give you the maximum amount of advance notice possible.

If you’re unable to attend at the revised location or date, you will receive a full credit of any prepaid fees against a future course, or if requested, a full refund.

HackerYou is not liable for any other costs incurred due to a postponement of a course or workshop. This includes travel charges or other consequential damages, even if we are advised of them at the time of postponement.

Course Transfers and Missed Classes

We want our courses to work for your schedule and your life. If you need to change your program’s start date, we’ll try our best to accommodate. If space permits, we’ll move you into the next available session. If you want to defer an Advanced course after completing the Intro, we will retain prepaid course fees and give you priority in the next available session. Please contact us as soon as you can so we may accommodate your request.

Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate students switching into other continuing education course sessions when a class is missed. Students who miss a class are expected to catch up on the material covered during their absence outside of class time. We encourage students to contact their course mentor(s) if extra assistance with missed exercises is needed.
